Agricultural spray drone applying liquid product low over a canola crop

Liquid Application

Drone Spraying

Precision liquid application for suitable agricultural and land-management applications across northwest Alberta and northeast British Columbia.

Aerial Liquid Application, Field By Field

Drone spraying puts the application in the air instead of on the ground. The aircraft is launched from an approach, a road allowance or a yard site, flies the mapped area at a set height and rate, and comes back for refill and battery changes. Nothing drives through the crop and nothing has to cross a soft spot to get to the far corner.

That makes it useful in the situations where a ground sprayer is either slow, risky or simply not able to get there — and useful for the smaller pieces of ground that never seem to justify moving a big machine.

When Farmers Here Reach For A Drone

  • The field is wet, and tracks or ruts would cost more than the pass is worth.
  • The crop is tall or advanced and ground equipment would knock it around.
  • The area is small, oddly shaped, or split by bush, sloughs and ravines.
  • The land has no good approach — fenced pasture, reclaimed sites, cut banks.
  • A patch problem showed up and only part of the quarter needs treating.
  • Timing is short and the sprayer is committed somewhere else.

What Affects The Job

Every aerial application comes down to the product, the rate, the site and the weather. Water volume, droplet size, buffer requirements around water and sensitive areas, wind, temperature and nearby yard sites all shape how — and whether — a job gets flown.

Send along what you intend to apply and it can be reviewed before anything is scheduled. If drone application is not appropriate for a particular product or site, you will be told that plainly.

What To Send With Your Request

Location or legal land description, approximate acres, the product or type of application you have in mind, and anything unusual about the field: powerlines, standing water, tree cover, livestock, adjacent crops or nearby residences. That is enough to talk through the job and give you a price.

Application availability depends on the product, label requirements, site conditions and applicable regulations.
